Tyrex commenced operating in 1990. For over 30 years Tyrex has been dedicated to providing sustainable solutions using Australian recycled rubber to produce a range of Threshold ramps, Matting, Safety, Mining and commercial products.
Tyrex was founded by two friends Peter Cross and Peter Wilson in 1990, two gentleman who had a vision for a business that would make a difference in the environmental, safety and accessibility spaces. When Tyrex was created, the technology was very innovative for the time and there were a lot of different products manufactured. Over time threshold ramps have become the biggest selling product range.
Today, Tyrex remains a proudly Australian made and owned company, manufacturing the highest quality products that are distributed Australia wide.
Our environmental commitment continues to strengthen, with Tyrex using more Australian recycled rubber each year, significantly benefiting the country’s environment. Tyrex operate out of a solar-powered, carbon-neutral facility and have implemented a waste rubber recycling program in collaboration with our rubber supplier. Tyrex is a proud partner of the Tyre Stewardship of Australia (TSA). Tyrex is recognised by the TSA as a certified circular economy collaborator for using only Australian recycled tyres in our products.
Tyrex is a strong supporter for an inclusive and accessible Australia. To this, Tyrex is a proud member of the Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia (ATSA). ATSA is the industry conduit to government, allied health professionals and stakeholders.

Tyrex is well known as a supportive and inclusive employer with a diverse workforce, which includes a vast array of awesome people from those living with mental health issues, Intellectual and physical disabilities, in conjunction with Indigenous and new Australians and LGBTIQA+ people.
