Supporting a Charity That Supports the Community
Survivors R Us is a not-for-profit charity that supports the fight against domestic violence, homelessness, and unemployment. Their Cardiff facility offers vital community support services, including discount food, on-site counselling, and an op-shop featuring handmade goods, pre-loved clothing, bric-a-brac, and furniture. Importantly, no eligibility requirements are needed to access their services—anyone in need is welcome.
Improving Comfort and Accessibility at the Facility
Reducing Foot Fatigue in the Sewing Room
Staff and volunteers working in the sewing room were beginning to feel the effects of spending long hours on hard concrete floors. To help relieve this discomfort, Tyrex supplied and installed custom anti-fatigue matting, made in interlocking sections for an efficient and adaptable fit. The new surface added softness and support underfoot, making the space significantly more comfortable for daily use.
Eliminating Trip Hazards With Rubber Access Ramps
The facility also had multiple trip hazards at various entry points and internal thresholds. The most significant was located at the main office entry, where we designed and installed a large custom rubber threshold ramp to provide a safe and seamless transition. In other areas, a combination of custom and standard ramps were used to address smaller level changes throughout the building.
