The Challenge
The sliding door tracking separated the indoor and outdoor event areas, with a noticeable height difference. For an event venue designed to host a wide range of gatherings, this presented both a safety issue and a functional challenge. Eliminating the risk of trips and bumps was essential to ensuring a seamless guest experience.
The Tyrex Solution
To address this, we provided a custom rubber ramping system on both sides of the sliding door track. Each ramp was designed to rise precisely to the full height of the tracking, creating a smooth and hazard-free transition between spaces.
Because of their size and weight, the ramps were manufactured in two pieces each. This design allowed for easier handling and placement while maintaining full stability once in position. To further enhance safety, protective side wings were incorporated on both sides of the ramps. These ensured that guests using the ramp would not slip or roll off the edge, while also reducing the chance of someone tripping on a straight edge if walking past.
The Result
The custom solution has levelled out the doorway, removing trip hazards and ensuring easy access for all guests. The venue now enjoys a clean, professional finish that complements its stylish event spaces while prioritising safety and accessibility.
